Kit of the Day #37: Algeria — The Green-and-White Back at the Party

Making up for lost time

Algeria got a big shock failing to qualify for Qatar 2022 after winning the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. The 2026 qualification cycle was a mission to undo that and the squad has the quality to back it up.

The design

Green home shirt with a white collar and a subtle desert-tile pattern running across the chest. The crest is proud and central, slightly larger than most kits in this cycle — a statement choice. Paired with white shorts.

Who to watch

Riyad Mahrez still cutting inside on his left foot, Ismael Bennacer anchoring midfield, Said Benrahma providing the attacking flair. Group J with Argentina, Austria and Jordan is winnable if Algeria are sharp.

Why you should care

Green international kits are rare and Algeria’s is one of the most distinctive. It photographs beautifully against light blues and whites on opposition kits.
