Footy Kits Battle is an independent fan site about the 2026 FIFA World Cup and its kits, run by Jake (16, United Kingdom). We don't ask you to create an account, hand over identifying data, or upload anything to use the site.

This policy explains the small amount of data we do process, the third-party services that may set cookies on this domain, and how to switch them off.

What we collect directly

  • No account data — there is no signup or login.
  • No payment data — we do not sell directly on-site.
  • Aggregated kit votes (Kit Clash, Top 5, Tier List) are stored locally in your browser. The site reads them so your rankings persist between visits, but they never leave your device unless you explicitly share a result card.
  • The opt-in global leaderboard records anonymised vote counts only — no identifiers, no IPs, no device fingerprints.
  • Server logs from our hosting provider may retain standard request data (IP, user agent, timestamp) for short-term security and abuse prevention. They are not used for analytics or profiling.

Third-party services we use

We use a small number of third parties to keep the site running and the site funded. Each one is listed below with what it does and how to opt out.

Google Analytics 4

Property G-4XQG6LTL5V. GA4 collects anonymised usage data (pages viewed, country-level location, device category, referrer) to help us understand which kits and articles people read. IP addresses are anonymised by Google before processing.

Opt-out: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, decline analytics cookies in our site banner, or use any content-blocker that blocks googletagmanager.com.

Amazon EU Associates Programme

When you click a “Shop on Amazon”, “Buy kit” or similar button, you are taken to amazon.co.uk with our affiliate tag footykitsbattle-21. Amazon then collects data under its own privacy notice. We receive aggregate commission reporting only — never your purchases or personal information.

Opt-out: simply don't click the affiliate links — every Amazon link on the site is also reachable by typing the product name into Amazon directly.

Sovrn Commerce (pending — not currently active)

Sovrn is an auto-affiliate service that rewrites outbound retailer links (Classic Football Shirts, Sports Direct, Nike, Adidas, etc.) at click time so we can earn a commission on those clicks too. Sovrn is currently disabled on this site and the integration script does not load. When it is re-enabled we will update this page and Sovrn's tracker will be governed by their privacy policy.

Vercel (hosting)

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Vercel logs basic request metadata for uptime, security and DDoS protection per their privacy policy.

Cookies and consent

We show a cookie consent banner on first visit. Accepting loads Google Analytics; declining keeps it disabled and stores your choice in local storage so we don't ask again.

We do not run ad-network cookies, retargeting tags, social tracking pixels, or marketing/profiling cookies of any kind.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we've mishandled your data.

Because we don't hold accounts or identifiers, most requests resolve with a simple “clear your local storage”, but we'll respond to any reasonable request within 30 days.

Contact

For privacy or data-protection questions, email footykitsbattle.team@gmail.com. Footy Kits Battle is operated by Jake (United Kingdom). Postal requests can be addressed to that email and we'll provide a corresponding contact channel if needed.
