Group C Preview: Brazil, Morocco, Scotland and Haiti

Brazil are the favourites but Morocco proved at Qatar 2022 that African sides can beat anyone. Scotland are back at a World Cup. Haiti make their debut. Group C is wide open.

The most unpredictable group in the tournament

On paper, Brazil top this group comfortably. But football is not played on paper. Morocco reached the semi-finals of the last World Cup — the first African nation ever to do so. Scotland are at a World Cup for the first time since 1998. And Haiti are making tournament history just by being here.

Brazil — the five-time champions

Brazil went out in the quarter-finals of Qatar 2022 to Croatia on penalties. It felt like the end of an era. But the rebuild has produced a younger, faster squad that plays with the kind of attacking intent Brazil fans demand.

The Brazil 2026 kit is a fully saturated canary yellow — the brightest yellow in the cycle. It’s gorgeous. It also happens to be one of the top-selling kits on Amazon ahead of the tournament.

Morocco — Africa’s best ever World Cup team

Morocco beat Belgium, Spain and Portugal at Qatar 2022 before losing to France in the semi-final. They have a defence that is genuinely elite, a midfield that controls possession, and an emotional energy that carries them through tight games.

The Morocco 2026 kit is a deep red Puma design. They are perfectly capable of topping this group ahead of Brazil.

Scotland — back after 28 years

Scotland’s last World Cup was France 98. An entire generation of Scottish fans has never seen their team at a World Cup finals. The Scotland 2026 kit is a navy Adidas design with tartan-inspired details. The Tartan Army will travel in huge numbers.

Getting out of a group with Brazil and Morocco will be extraordinarily difficult. But a draw against either and a win against Haiti would put them in contention.

Haiti — the dreamers

Haiti qualified through the expanded CONCACAF pathway. They are one of the smallest nations at the tournament and the least-fancied team in the group. But World Cup debuts produce magic — ask Costa Rica 2014 or South Korea 2002.

Prediction

1st: Brazil. 2nd: Morocco. Scotland third, but closer than you think.
